Length of the damage
The biggest single factor. Lining is priced on the length of pipe that needs it, which the camera measures. One damaged joint and a full run of failed pipe are very different jobs.
There is no honest flat price for relining a pipe you have not seen. Here is what decides the number, and how to get a real one.

Relining is priced on the pipe, not the property. Two houses on the same street can get very different quotes because one has three metres of cracked line and the other has fifteen metres with two junctions under a slab. That is why Brigs Plumbing does not publish a relining price and quotes from camera footage instead.
What you can know in advance is what goes into the number. The list below is the same one used to work out a quote.
The fair comparison is not the price of a liner against the price of a new pipe. It is the whole job against the whole job, and the cost of digging includes putting back whatever was on top of the pipe.
Under open, shallow lawn, digging and replacing a short section is often the cheaper answer. Under a driveway, a slab, a path, a deck, a pool surround or an established garden, the cost of breaking and reinstating the surface is usually what makes relining the cheaper option.
A good quote should tell you which side of that line your pipe is on. If digging is cheaper for your job, you will be told.
Call and describe what the drain is doing. If it is blocked, it is cleared; then a camera inspection shows the damage and measures it. You see the footage, and the relining quote is for the length the camera found. Nothing is started until you agree to the price.

The biggest single factor. Lining is priced on the length of pipe that needs it, which the camera measures. One damaged joint and a full run of failed pipe are very different jobs.
A 100mm house drain and a larger line take different liners and different amounts of resin.
Every branch line joining the run has to be reopened after lining, and bends add work. A straight run is the simplest job.
A liner bonds only to a clean pipe. Heavy root masses or scale take longer to cut out before lining can start.
Whether there is a usable inspection opening at the right point, or one has to be made first.
Separate damaged sections along the same line can sometimes be done in one visit, which is cheaper than coming back.

Because the length and condition of the damaged pipe decide the price, and neither can be known without a camera. A phone price would have to assume the worst case to be safe, which helps nobody.
Per metre of pipe, it can be. Per job, it often is not, because digging includes breaking and reinstating whatever sits above the pipe. Under open lawn digging may win; under concrete or landscaping relining usually does.
Ask when you call. What is included depends on the job, and you get a straight answer before anyone arrives.
You are quoted before work starts, and the quoted price is what you pay.
